Julie Ziegler
Executive Director
Julie has been involved with Humanities Washington since 1998, serving multiple terms on the board of trustees and holding leadership posts on the Grants, Development, Finance, and Executive Committees. Julie also has a great deal of professional experience in program and partnership development, philanthropy, and marketing. While at Safeco Insurance, she managed their national grants program and several community outreach programs. Prior to Safeco, she worked as Vice President and Northwest Regional Manager of the Bank of America Foundation.

Eric W. Sanders, CPA
Associate Director
Eric began his business career at Ernst & Young after earning an accounting degree from San Diego State University. He has since served as a financial analyst for a major pharmaceutical company and taught business English in Germany before moving to the Pacific Northwest, where he managed the finances of a Seattle magazine store and espresso bar prior to joining Humanities Washington.

Andrew Wahl
Communications Director
Andrew spent more than a decade as a journalist in
Washington state, serving as graphics editor at The (Longview) Daily News and features editor at The Wenatchee World. He also did editorial
cartooning for both newspapers, twice earning international recognition in the
United Nations’ Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Awards. A graduate of the
University of Washington-Bothell’s interdisciplinary studies program (comparative
U.S. and international studies), Andrew went on to earn his master’s in liberal
studies with an emphasis in the humanities from Fort Hays State University. He

Ellen Terry
Program Director
Ellen joins us from the Washington State History Museum, where she served as curator of public programs. Ellen holds a master's degree in nonprofit management from Seattle University, a master's in museology from the University of Washington, and a bachelor's degree in Art History from Mount Holyoke College. She interned at the Seattle Art Museum and the Children's Museum of Manhattan. Ellen serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Museum Association.

Zaki Abdelhamid
Program Manager
Zaki has been involved in community programming and
organizing for most of his professional career. Most recently, he served as the
Director of Education and Community Programs at Intiman Theatre. An Arab
immigrant from Jordan, he received his bachelor's in theater from the University at
Albany, and a Master of Fine Arts in acting from the University of Delaware. A Seattle
resident since 2003, he is very proud to serve his community through Humanities

Kari Dasher
Development Manager
Kari most recently spent four years at Benevon, a fundraising consulting organization, where she coached hundreds of nonprofit organizations in individual giving strategy assessment and design. She is a seasoned event professional and as a former member of the U.S. Army, lived and traveled extensively in the US and South Korea. Kari has a bachelor's degree in biology from Troy State University and completed graduate work in molecular, cellular and developmental biology at the University of California Santa Cruz. She is a member of the Washington Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Northwest Development Officers Association (NDOA), and serves on the AFP 2011 Symposium on Major Gifts committee. Chase Clancy
Development & Program Coordinator
Chase is a recent college graduate from Seattle University,
majoring in liberal studies with minors in both business administration and nonprofit leadership. Most recently he was the development intern at the
Vera Project, an all-ages music-and-arts venue located in the Seattle
Center. In addition to assisting in the development and programming activities at
Humanities Washington, Chase remains an active member
