Burke MuseumBurke Museum Tour
A behind the scenes tour of the Burke Museum in Seattle with Executive Director Julie Stein. She will show you and your friends areas of the museum normally closed to the public including Ethnology, Geology, Mammalogy, Ornithology and Archeology. The Burke Museum is dedicated to creating a better understanding of the world and our place in it. The museum is responsible for Washington State collections of natural history and cultural heritage, and for sharing the knowledge that makes them meaningful. Includes a free pass to the museum.

Charles Johnson Salon Evening with Charles Johnson
Salon evening featuring Bedtime Stories author Charles Johnson at the lovely Seattle home of Constanza Romero, wife of playwright August Wilson. Johnson, a 1998 MacArthur fellow, is the S. Wilson and Grace M. Pollock Endowed Professor of English at the University of Washington. In 1990, he became the first African-American male to win the National Book Award since Ralph Ellison in 1953 for his novel Middle Passage. Constanza Romero is an artist and accredited theater designer.  Romero met August Wilson in 1990 when her Yale School of Drama teachers assigned her to design costumes for his new play, The Piano Lesson.

Chinatown GateWalking Tour of Seattle’s International District
Take a behind the scenes walking tour of Chinatown / ID, hosted by former director of the Wing Luke Museum, Ron Chew. In 1991, Chew was hired as the Executive Director for the Wing Luke Asian Museum, and transformed it from a struggling artifact-based museum into an award-winning center based on collaborative projects with the region's diverse Asian/ Pacific Islander communities. Chew was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the National Council on the Humanities in 2001. Includes a free pass to the Wing Luke Museum.

Theatre Salon Theatre Salon Evening
Enjoy lively discussion about the process of creating, rehearsing, and performing a brand new play, with Bedtime Stories author Keri Healey, a local playwright, director, and actor. She and host A.J. Epstein of Ethereal Mutt Productions will share stories from the field, onstage, and backstage. The event will be held in Seattle.

Skagit Poetry Experience
A wonderful evening of food, wine, and words with Washington’s first poet laureate, Sam Green. Green is the author of several collections of poetry, most recently The Grace of Necessity. The evening will be hosted by board member Dan Lamberton, Humanities Chair at Walla Walla University.

An Evening of Humanities at MOHAI
Go behind the scenes at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry. Join MOHAI Executive Director Leonard Garfield for an evening of history, conversation, and light refreshments. The night will include a private tour of MOHAI's extensive archives and collections. Each guest receives a personally selected hand printed photograph from the MOHAI collection.
