Julie ZieglerJulie Ziegler appointed Interim Executive Director
Humanities Washington has named Julie Ziegler its Interim Executive Director. A multiterm trustee of Humanities Washington and a Yakima native, Ziegler is committed to the mission of the organization and well-positioned to lead its work until a permanent executive director is named.

An eight-year board member (1998-2004 and 2006-present) Ziegler has served as chair of the Grants, Development, and Finance Committees in addition to several years on the Executive Committee.

Ziegler has a great deal of professional experience in program and partnership development, philanthropy, and marketing. While at Safeco Insurance, she managed their national grants program and several outreach programs. Prior to that, she worked as Northwest Regional Manager of the Bank of America Foundation.

"We are thrilled that Julie has stepped up to serve as Interim Executive Director for Humanities Washington," said Susannah Malarkey, board chair for Humanities Washington. "She knows our programs extremely well and has a real passion for the work of the organization. Her strong background in philanthropy and marketing will be especially helpful as we continue to make a statewide impact while conducting our search for a new permanent executive director."
