It's through the humanities that we can bridge the distances between us and interpret--together--the shared experience of being alive. While the humanities tend to be undervalued during tough economic times, it's times like these when we need them the most. Washingtonians are fortunate to have Humanities Washington working to keep the humanities vital throughout our communities.

Extraordinary Ordinary People - Performance by Show Brazil

In every community, individuals with excellence and authenticity contribute to the rich artistic and cultural legacies of the United States. Extraordinary Ordinary People recognizes the best of these artists through photographs, art objects, videos and interactive media. The national traveling exhibit will be at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center May 1 though August 8. Associated with the exhibit are five live traditional arts and humanities programs which we hope you will attend. This evening: Performance by Show Brazil - Brazilian music and dance. This is a First-Friday event.

This evening: I Done What I Could: Occupational Folk Poetry from the Pacific Northwest, folk poetry from the Pacific Northwest, with folklorist Jens Lund.
