Genocide In The Human Heart: From The Holocaust To Darfur - Walla Walla
Saturday, November 10- 2:00 at the Walla Walla Public Library - 238 E. Alder Street
Temple Beth Israel and the Walla Walla Public Library host a discussion between Bruce Magnusson, Whitman College professor of modern African politics, and Rabbi Stanley Yedwab. Walla Walla City Council member Barbara Clark will moderate the discussion and facilitate audience questions and comments. The event is free and open to the public.

Poet, Writer and Musician - Joy Harjo

From the Gonzaga Event webpage - Harjo, a poet, musician, editor and artist, is a full member of the Muscogee Creek Tribe. She has written several volumes of poetry, including "The Last Song," "What Moon Drove Me to This," "She Had Some Horses," "Secrets from the Center of the World," "In Mad Love and War," and "The Woman Who Fell from the Sky." She plays the saxophone in her band, Poetic Justice, which combines music with poetry, and she also teaches in the English department at the University of New Mexico.

John James Audubon: American Artist and Naturalist

Exhibit open through 1/6/08 at the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI)
MOHAI presents a selection of extremely rare and valuable Audubon works of art and artifacts selected from the collection and archives of the John James Audubon Museum in Henderson, Kentucky. The exhibit includes original Audubon letters, rare books, photographs, personal items, and 60 of the original large hand colored "Double Elephant Folio"; engravings from The Birds of America. John James Audubon: American Artist and Naturalist is open through Sunday, January 6, 2008.
