Donald Revell Poet Donald Revell - Spokane Tuesday, October 9th - 7:30pm in the Cataldo Globe Room Revell, a graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) in Binghamton and SUNY in Buffalo, is a professor of English at the University of Utah. He has written eight volumes of poetry, including "My Mojave," "Arcady," "There Are Three," "Beautiful Shirt," "Erasures," "New Dark Ages," "The Gaza of Winter," and "From the Abandoned Cities." A few of his honors include a Pushcart Prize, the Shestack Prize and the Gertrude Stein Award. The series continues in November with Joy Harjo reading and performing on the 14. Readings are presented in the "Book-It Style" by a group of professional actors, who perform the most controversial sections from the books, then facilitate a discussion on the First Amendment and how and why books are banned and challenged. The exhibit includes original Audubon letters, rare books, photographs, personal items, and 60 of the original large hand colored "Double Elephant Folio"; engravings from The Birds of America.
