Tom Robbins, August Wilson, Tess Gallagher & Karen Fisher Featured in New Anthology by Northwest Writers
Night Lights, featuring 22 short stories & essays from 21 authors, is available now
SEATTLE - Humanities Washington (http://www.humanities.org) has announced publication of Night Lights, a collection of 22 short stories and essays by treasured Northwest authors that explores all things nocturnal. From things that go bump in the night, to how the dark can both embolden and discourage, to how sparks–whether from a new idea or an ignition of passion–are more vivid against the backdrop of darkness.
The book is available to the public beginning today, October 18, at http://www.humanities.org and will soon be available on Amazon.com.
The stories are selected from more than 50 read aloud at Humanities Washington's annual Bedtime Stories event from 1998-2009. Readers will experience the sad and humorous, sweet and outrageous, as well as the traditional, contemporary, and futuristic in this collection of gems.
"This marks the first occasion many of these stories will be available to the general public," said Julie Ziegler, Humanities Washington's executive director. "Many amazing and accomplished writers have participated in our Bedtime Stories event, and the result is a body of wonderfully diverse work which reflects the diversity and talent of Washington's literary community."
Proceeds from sales benefit Humanities Washington's cultural and educational programming in Washington State. The book was published with the assistance of CreateSpace.com.
