Bedtime Stories Spokane 2013
Bedtime Stories Spokane 2013: Pillow Talk
A crowd of more than 140 people gathered at the Spokane Club on Sept. 20 for Bedtime Stories, Humanities Washington's night of food, wine and words. The literary gala featured the debut of new work from critically acclaimed Northwest authors Kathleen Flenniken, Sharma Shields, Shawn Vestal and Jess Walter.
Counting sponsorships, ticket sales and night-of donations, the event raised more than $30,000 to support Humanities Washington’s work sparking conversation and critical thinking in communities across our state using story as a catalyst, including our upcoming Prime Time Family Reading program in Spokane County. Thank you to our donors for your generosity!
Humanities Washington would like to express deep gratitude to the extremely talented group of authors who invested their time and talent to make this event so special. Many thanks, also, to emcee Gary Stokes, whose commitment to the humanities in the Spokane community is truly remarkable.
Thank you to PEMCO Insurance, the Hagan Foundation Center for the Humanities, and The Spokesman-Review for supporting the event, and to the Host Committee and the many volunteers who contributed their time to make this Bedtime Stories event such a success.
