From February 11 to 15, students in grades 1 - 12 can register to vote and cast their ballot for a presidential candidate. All Democratic and Republican candidates appearing in the 2008 Presidential Primary will be on the 2008 Mock Primary ballot. Just like the real Presidential Primary, students can choose their favorite candidate to represent either of the two major political parties in November's General Election.
The Mock Primary is hosted by the Washington Office of the Secretary of State and is part of the Voter Outreach Through Education (VOTE) program.
Humanities Washington is proud to be an official endorser of the 2008 Mock Presidential Primary. The knowledge and ciritical thinking skills gained from an understanding of the humanities in conjunction with the experience of voting in the Mock Primary prepares our students to become fully enfranchised citizens and to play an active role in our democracy.
