It isn't enough to say we "need" the humanities because we ARE the humanities. They are gifts to us from our predecessors, ancestors, and contemporaries. They represent the imagination, [the] innovative, and ask us to think deeply—as the greatest philosophers and artists have always asked us for the last 2,500 years—about our experience, and to think beyond the various intellectually lazy forms of ideology circulating in America today.

Volunteer

Humanities Washington's success depends on the time and generosity of many volunteers. From assisting with administrative tasks to serving on our board of trustees, our mission is advanced because of the tireless dedication of community members from across the state.

We are currently in need of people to assist with:

  • Large-scale mailings (addressing, stuffing envelopes, stamping)
  • Data entry (update addresses, enter new contacts)
  • Guest authors (writing experience required) for blog posts and newsletter articles
  • Special event assistance (author readings, fundraiser, film screenings, etc.)

In addition, we are always seeking professionals with expertise in finance, program development, fundraising, legislative outreach, and law to serve on committees.

To inquire about any of these opportunities, please email info@humanities.org and indicate your name, the type of work you are interested in, and your general availability.

Thank you for your interest!
