As human beings, we look for common experiences and want to share our experiences—that’s what writing is all about. You tell someone a story and they try to relate that to their own lives—there's a communal experience. We're trying to puzzle out the meaning of the world around us—that’s what the humanities is all about.

Volunteer

Ways to volunteer your time with Humanities Washington.

Humanities Washington's success depends on the time and generosity of many volunteers. From assisting with administrative tasks to serving on our board of trustees, our mission is advanced because of the tireless dedication of community members from across the state.

We seek volunteers with an interest in cultural education programs who can also offer experience in finance, law, legislative relations, literacy, early education or public humanities programming.

If you are interested in contributing your time and expertise to our organization (or know someone who is) please e-mail us at info@humanities.org!
