For our inaugural top ten list, University of Washington English Professor Anu Taranath shares some of her favorite Pacific Northwest authors of color from the past 40 years. Taranath travels the state as part of the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, and will present The World in Washington: An Exploration of Literature and Our Lives at the Kent Library Feb. 6.     What about Sherman Alexie? The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. It’s a young adult book, but so many of us in the Methow Valley read it when North Central Regional Library featured it as a community read!
