Apply Now for Our 2016 Grant Round
Does your community want to learn? Discuss? Tell its story? Or understand the world—and each other—a little better?
Humanities Washington is now accepting applications from organizations throughout the state for our Spark and Washington Stories Fund grant programs.
Spark grants are awards of up to $7,500 for projects based in dialogue or discussion. We’re excited about events that bring communities together over important issues, from culture or history to current events. Washington Stories Fund grants of up to $5,000 are for programs that highlight the little-known stories of a person or group whose contributions add to the cultural richness and health of Washington State.
We’re accepting LOIs for our Spark and Washington Stories Fund programs from nonprofit organizations until May 13. Full proposals are due June 27. Grants will be awarded in fall of 2016. (Note that our $1,000 Opportunity grants are awarded year-round with no deadlines to apply.)
We’re looking to support programs that help our communities understand complex social issues through disciplines such as history, literature, and philosophy, providing a framework for examining how we think, what we value, and what it means to be human.
To apply, see the grants section of our website.
