You are Changing Lives, One Picture Book at a Time
You are making amazing things happen.
As a friend of Humanities Washington, you support programs that bring the humanities to Washingtonians young and old, programs that, every day, create “aha” moments and foster deep, long-lasting connections.
One of these programs, Prime Time Family Reading, transforms the lives and futures of at-risk and vulnerable children by introducing them to the wide-open world of words and ideas with stories like Dr. DeSoto and Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock.
I recently saw the program in action in Port Townsend — truly amazing work you have made possible. One student said, “My mom used to come home from work at six and watch TV. Now we read together.”

Your donation supports childrenlike these, who participated in the Prime Time Program in Kennwick this May.
That change in a child’s life could not have happened without your generous donations. This spring, our goal is to raise $15,000 by this Sunday, May 26th to bring Prime Time to 180 additional students and their families.
We need your help! Give today to continue this important work!
Thanks to past donations, we have brought Prime Time to Spokane, Walla Walla, the Tri-Cities, Port Townsend, Mukilteo, Monroe, Shoreline and Lynnwood. We are committed to providing this program to even more students, families and communities across the state. The only limitation is funding. Please make your contribution today.
Prime Time really does change lives. In a 10-year study, students who participated in the program in elementary school performed at a higher level in all grade-level content areas in high school.
Together, we can put young readers on the path to success. We can’t do it without you! Please give before May 26th to support family reading.
Sincerely,
Julie Ziegler
