I Sing the Salmon Home: a Conversation with Washington State Poets Laureate Rena Priest and Arianne True

Event Description

Celebrate National Native American Heritage Month and the fall salmon run. Join current Washington State Poet Laureate Arianne True and former Washington State Poet Laureate Rena Priest to discuss Priest’s most recent poetry anthology, I Sing the Salmon Home.

Arianne True is the 2023-2025 Washington State Poet Laureate, appointed by Governor Inslee. Arianne has received fellowships from Jack Straw Cultural Arts, Hugo House, and Artist Trust. She is an alum of Hedgebrook and the MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts and was recently the Seattle Repertory Theater’s first Native Artist-in-Residence.

The Poet Laureate program is sponsored by Humanities Washington and The Washington State Arts Commission/ArtsWA, with the support of Governor Jay Inslee. See the full website of the Poet Laureate here.
